 *It is strongly advised that clients take out holiday insurance to cover the possibility of cancellation charges*

  1. As of March 19th, 2020, due to the Covid 19 outbreak, the following will apply to all new bookings, a non-refundable booking deposit of 10% of the rental charge is required to reserve accommodation. The balance is taken 7 days prior to arrival, both deposit and balance are transferable but are non-refundable. At least 7 days’ notice needs to be given if you wish to reschedule your stay. Any increase in holiday cost will be charged should you wish to reschedule at a later date.  A service fee of €40.00 is also payable with this deposit. Confirmation of booking will issue on receipt of deposit.
  2. Cancellation by Guest – Notice of cancellation must be in writing.      The guest will be charged 10% of the total price if they cancel after reservation is made. The guest will be charged the total price if they cancel in the 7 days before arrival.The guest will be charged a prepayment of 10% of the total price after reservation is made and the remaining amount will be charged in the 7 days before arrival.
    The deposit is none refundable and none transferable
    Any cancellation within 7 days is none refundable and non-transferable
  3. GROUP BOOKINGS.– strict policy (no exceptions)
    Rent an Irish Cottage do not accept bookings from groups of parties under the age of 25, unless otherwise agreed in writing. We reserve the right to refuse to check-in such groups and will not refund any monies paid in advance in the event of non-disclosure of the age of the occupants.
    For groups of 3 or more houses, a 20% non-refundable deposit is required on booking
    Balance due 14 days prior to arrival date – after which, both deposit and balance are non-refundable & non-transferable.
  4. UTILITY CHARGES.
    Gas & Electricity charges are not included in our rates, exceptions may apply at certain properties, please check the charges on the property you wish to book as a nightly charge will apply for the following periods:
    May – September
    October to April
    All utilities are payable on booking. In the event where excess gas or electricity charges have not been paid by the client upon departure, we reserve the right to deduct these charges from the security deposit or credit card used on booking.
    *Fair Usage Policy:
    This applies to Gas and Electricity usage over each 24 hour period. The agreed rates per 24 hour periods are based on fair usage which allows 4 units of Gas per 24 hour period and 10 units of electricity per 24 hour period. Excess of these usages are charged as follows: €3.00/unit Gas and €0.37/unit for electricity. Please note in general usage is not in excess of these allowances.
  5. The cottage must be left as it is found and the cost of repairs to or the replacement of property will be the responsibility of the client.
  6. A security deposit may be requested by the Supervisor on arrival.  This will be returned provided the Supervisor is satisfied that the terms and conditions of rental have been complied with. In the event that the Supervisor is unable to check the cottage at the clients departure, the security deposit will be forwarded within 7 days. Clients are expected to leave the cottage clean and tidy otherwise a charge of €35 will be requested.
  7. Rental of cottage may be terminated with no refund at the discretion of the supervisor or any officer of the company if clients/occupiers behave in a disruptive manner, cause a nuisance or disturbance, cause damage to the property or in any other circumstances deemed reasonable by the supervisor or an officer of the company
  8. On the expiry of other termination of rental the supervisor and or any officer of the company may remove all belongings of the clients/occupiers of the cottage left in the cottage and store or otherwise deal with the same as deemed appropriate.  Not withstanding the aforesaid the sole risk in respect of such belongings shall at all times remain with the clients/occupiers.
  9. Possession of cottage must be taken between 16.00hrs and 18.00hrs and the cottage vacated by 10.00am on day of departure.  It is recommended that clients telephone the Supervisor in advance to confirm exact time of arrival.  FAILURE TO NOTIFY ON SITE SUPERVISOR OF LATE ARRIVAL COULD RESULT IN LOSS OF RESERVATION
  10. The company is not responsible for any loss of valuables or property left in the cottage during the stay or on departure.
  11. The Supervisor and or any officer of the company may at all reasonable times visit the cottage.
  12. The number of persons stated on the reservation form may not be exceeded in any circumstances
  13. Dogs are not allowed except with the express permission of the Supervisor or an officer on the company.  If permission is given an extra charge of €30 per dog is payable to the supervisor on arrival
  14. Complaints: If you are not entirely satisfied with the property, you should contact the Supervisor immediately so they can attempt to resolve the problem on site during your stay. This is very important, as it gives us the opportunity to visit the property and understand the nature of your concern and respond quickly and effectively.

    This applies particularly to complaints of a transient nature, (e.g. cleanliness or heating) as these can be rectified shortly after notification.

    Should you ring outside office hours, please leave a message with clear details of your name, contact phone number, booking reference number and a brief message.

    If you fail to contact the Supervisor or the office during your stay your right to claim any compensation you may otherwise have been entitled to may be affected or even lost as a result.

  15. In the event of breach of contract on the part of Rent An Irish cottage arising, any loss or damage including consequential loss sustained by the renter shall be limited to the sum paid by the renter to Rent An Irish Cottage
  16. In the event that a client has a special request relating to a booking, this must be specified in writing at the time of booking.  Not withstanding this the company does not guarantee such requirement will be facilitated.
  17. RIGHT TO DECLINE: Rent an Irish Cottage Management reserve the right to refuse, alter or cancel a booking, even after receipt of payment. In addition to this, the company is relived of all liability should reserved accommodation not be available due to circumstances beyond our control. In such an instance, alternative arrangements will be made in similar accommodation, or a full refund will be offered. However, no refund or liability will apply to a situation where a client is requested to vacate, or leaves of their own accord, prior to the expiration of the booking.
