Clonloylan Estate

Location: In the west of Ireland, directly on Lough Derg. The estate is 12 kilometers from the town of Portumna, where there are shops, original pubs with music evenings, an 18-hole golf course and a 250-hectare park with hiking trails. The cities of Galway and Limerick are around an hour’s drive and Dublin Airport is around two and a half hours away. Clonmoylan is ideal for numerous excursions, e.g. in the “Burren” with the famous “Cliffs of Moher”, the “Connemara”, to Birr, Galway, Limerick and much more.

Red Oak: Cozy bar with free WiFi, open daily from 5 p.m. (closed on Mondays). Small, well-kept restaurant for dinner upon reservation. This is also where the keys are handed over by the Liechtenstein-Irish family Hilty, your hosts, who will be happy to help and advise you during your entire stay.

Golf: Almost ideal, the next 18 holes and a 9 hole golf course, which is also suitable for beginners, can be reached in ten minutes by car. At least ten more, some of them excellent, can be reached in a maximum of one hour by car. Green fees from around EUR 25 for 18-hole courses. The Hiltys will be happy to help you reserve your tee time. In Portumna there is an excellent golf instructor for advanced and beginners, knowledge of English required, one hour of private lessons approx. EUR 40.

Riding: There is a good riding stable near Portumna.

Tennis: Own tennis court with artificial turf / sand surface on the premises, free of charge for guests of Clonmoylan.

Sport fishing: right in front of the house. A fishing boat is included in the rental price of every holiday home (motor for an extra charge).

For families

There is a playground for children, various fire pits for a cozy BBQ.

Take a trip with “your” boat on the lake or on the beautiful, untouched canals or row out to an island for a picnic.

Other options: Extensive walking paths that lead along the lakeshore and the canals through meadows, reeds, forests and swamps, where you will encounter intact fauna with horses, ponies, donkeys, cows, ducks and chickens and experience lush vegetation .

Bike rental, surfing and sailing can also be arranged. (subject to covid restrictions)

Outside of  the estate there are various options such as indoor swimming pool, go-karting, “pet farm” etc. within a 30-minute drive.
