Description

Stunning Georgian property on the Flaggy shore. Built in 1788 for Colonel William Persse on his return from the American War of Independence, Mount Vernon was named to celebrate his friendship with George Washington. The three remaining Monterey Cypress trees in the walled garden are thought to have been a gift from the President.

The house was previously owned by Lady Gregory and has hosted and inspired poets and luminaries such as Yeats and Shaw. The house is alive with the past while fitted with all the necessities of today.

There is high speed wifi throughout the house, a 32” television with Netflix, and a smart home system including Alexa to soundtrack your stay.
