Walking and Cycling

Throughout the town there are numerous walking and cycling routes. These bring you to the two opposite sides of the town. There’s an extra cycling route, for the experienced cyclists, taking you as far as Killimer. This is along the West Clare Cycle-way stetching throughout the whole of West Clare.

The town of Kilkee has many bars and restaurants worth considering for a visit!

One of the best places for a stop of for lunch is the Diamond Rocks cafe. The cafe sits overlooking the stunning cliffs down into the bay of Kilkee. Here you can expect to find great quality service and great food. It makes for the ideal to get your afternoon fry or get a delicious dinner for all the family. The main dinner food is homemade pizza. All products are locally sourced.

On the main street of the town is the very popular ‘The Pantry‘ bakery and restaurant. They are open for breakfast and lunch, and you can expect all products – including bakery products – to be freshly made.

The family-run Fitzpatrick’s pub is one of the best pubs in the area. Located minutes away from most of the towns attractions such as the pier and the beach, it is the perfect place to sit down and relax with a quiet drink. Some evenings and during holiday times you might catch a traditional music session.

Naughtons bar is one of the most iconic bars around the town. Throughout the years it has kept its very personal touch while also being a great place for everyone to enjoy a relaxing drink. Other recommended bars include Keane’s and Hickie’s pub. Keane’s bar is a walk away from the centre of the town but it offers a great atmosphere whereas Hickie’s bar is located more central near the beach. Enjoy!
